Celebrating Our 2024 Teachers of the Year: Freedom MS!

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Month, we’re celebrating a school 2024 Teacher of the Year each day!  Family and Consumer Science (FACS) and physical science teacher Anna Zincone, a 20-year educator, is the Teacher of the Year for Freedom Middle School and one of four CCSD Teacher of the Year finalists honored earlier this year!

“Anna’s passion motivates students to engage in activities and show curiosity,” a colleague shared.  “Every lesson in Anna’s classrooms in both FACS and physical science is taught based on standards, student’s needs and integration of academic content.  Anna spends time helping students connect their own experiences to the content.  She doesn’t just explain the content, she uses the content to problem solve.  In FACS, she created a kitchen disaster for students to analyze and identify kitchen safety.  In physical science, students built a roller coaster out of cardstock to demonstrate the understanding of momentum and physics.  Anna’s many hours of planning and preparing classroom lessons are evident through student engagement and enthusiasm to learn.”
